Our good friends Jefferson Placido and the band Samba Nonsense were at it again with a musical project in Brazil supporting the independent artists and music scene! Taking the stage in Brazil in front of big crowds recently and the magic was caught in a few great photos. Samba Nonsense no Centro Municipal de Referência da Música Carioca Artur da Távola.
To kick start Music Monday we had to start with our man of the moment, Mr Marcelo Duani! The Porto Alegre singer, songwriter and soul crooner is the voice of Brazil's present sound! But! Just a few years ago, Marcelo recorded a beautiful live set as part of the Audiometro in Brazil. Take some time, and enjoy this man's work.
What a way to kick off #MusicMonday! We have a new song by the talented singer / songwriter Marcelo Duani! The single "Letras Interminadas" Featuring Paulo Calasans, is simply, BEAUTIFUL. A song filled with elegant piano rhythms, voice, soul, and light guitar work make it a must listen!! Push Play! and Push Play again!
As we get into the groove of 2017, we want to look back at some of the wonderful events, music, and credits we've accomplished since starting Afro:Baile in 2006. We've had our fair share of ups, downs, in's, out's and all arounds. BUT!~ We have persevered to create a unique and forward thinking label, brand and event company that has withheld the tests of time to bring Arizona a monument of amazing artists, bands, djs, producers, musicians, and community! SO! With that said, we'll be looking back at lots of great posters, art work, album covers and videos over the next few weeks! We hope you enjoy!
First up! We started Afro:Baile as a weekly event in 2006. Little did we know, the little event, would grow into a full blown record label, and produce some of the largest festivals, events and concerts in Arizona. Here are a few photos of the first Event flyers from circa 2006. |
